Nagpur: A 46-year-old man in Dhantoli tested positive for COVID-19 after his friend, who came from Mumbai, tested positive for the virus. The man, who resides near Justice Sambhare’s residence at Bhiwapurkar Marg, was admitted to city’s Government Medical College (GMC).

There were messages on social media on Friday evening saying Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had sealed the nearby lanes in Dhantoli to restrict the movement of the citizens. Till Saturday afternoon , no barricading was done at any of the routes that lead to the COVID-19 positive’s residence. However, two policemen were deployed near the residence of the COVID-19 infected.

When we spoke to Assistant Municipal Commissioner for Dharampeth zone Prakash Warade , he said, “The patient has been shifted to GMC. Except for him, all his family members are senior citizens, out of which one has been home quarantined. Rest all have been shifted to quarantine centres. NMC has begun sealing of the lane, where the residence is.”
