Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has served a show cause notice to corporator Bunty Shelke after finding him guilty of disrupting a general body meeting of the NMC on February 3, 2018. Shelke has been asked to reply to the notice in seven days and state why he should be disqualified as a corporator.
Bunty Shelke, on February 3, 2018, stormed into the town hall without permission along with ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activists) workers demanding a hike in the daily wages of the workers. This resulted in the sudden end of the general body meeting. Following a complaint from NMC, Kotwali police had registered a case against Shelke.
An enquiry conducted by NMC and led by Additional Commissioner Rizwan Siddiqui found Shelke guilty of entering the town hall without permission and hence he was served a show cause notice by NMC Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal.
Congress candidate Bunty Shelke became a corporator from Mahal in 2017 after he beat BJP’s candidate Bandu Raut in heated contest.
