Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), on Sunday, decided to reduce the area of containment zone at Satranjipura and Jawahar Nagar.
Earlier in the month, NMC, over a period of time, sealed multiple areas in Satranjipura as the area became a hotspot for COVID-19 cases in the city. However, after patients from some areas tested negative for coronavirus after treatment and others under institutional quarantine centres also tested negative, NMC has decided to allow relaxations in some areas of Satranjipura.
The areas, which are no longer in containment zone, include: Hotel Madina area on Maldhakka road, AMA Company area on Maldhakka road, Bodhisathva Buddha area, and Juna Motor Stand Square area.
Areas, which continue to be in containment zone include: Girls Hostel area, NMC Badminton Hall area, Kamakshi Beauty Parlour area, Anushka General Stores area, Sunil Hotel area, Patel Timber traders area and Parekh Building area.
Similarly, areas in Jawahar Nagar were also declared as containment zones after positive cases came to light from the area. Now as two people, put under institutional quarantine have tested negative and two people, who tested positive, are being treated at the hospital, relaxations are being given in some areas of Jawahar Nagar.
The areas, which are no longer in containment zone, include: Ajay Medical area, Pir Baba Dargah area, Ring Road to Sharda Square, Vijay Bansod’s house at Sharda Square, Manewada Cement Road to Sharda Square, Pragya Buddha Vihar area and Manewada Cement Road.
Areas, which continue to be in containment zone include: Gajanan Mahalle’s house, Radhakrishna Apartrment, Plot no 62 and SS Menkudade’s house.
