NMC to implement students’ innovative ideas for Nagpur’s development

    Students across Nagpur presented their innovative ideas through projects and presentations during Hackathon, an initiative under Mayor Innovative Award, on February 1 at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium. Brainchild of Mayor Nanda Jichkar, Hackathon is a competition that aims to generate new ideas through youngsters aged between 12-16, 16-20 and above 20 years.

    The projects, which would revolve around the betterment of the city, would be implemented by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.

    Participants during Hackathon were given 25 topics related to problems faced by Nagpurians and were asked to provide solutions for the same. Topics included rainwater harvesting, security system, fire fighting, traffic congestion and rod safety, etc.

    Apart from Jichkar, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Commissioner of Police Dr BK Upadhyay, Ruling Party Leader Sandeep Joshi, MLC Girish Vyas, MLC Jogendra Kawade, Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar, VC RTMNU Dr Siddharthvinayak Kane, Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, etc were also present.
