Former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala clears Class 12 board exam from Tihar Jail

Former CM of Haryana – 82-year-old Om Prakash Chautala, who’s currently serving a sentence at Tihar Jail, cleared the Class 12 board exam in first division.

Former CM of Haryana and leader of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) – 82-year-old Om Prakash Chautala, who’s currently serving a sentence at Tihar Jail, has cleared the Class 12 board exam in first division. Chautala took the exam in Delhi’s Tihar Jail last month, which was conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). The octogenarian, who has served as the CM of Haryana four times, is serving his sentence of ten years at the jail after being convicted in the teachers’ recruitment scam.

The politician’s younger son Abhay Chautala while speaking to a leading daily confirmed the news adding that his father wants to utilize his jail term meaningfully. Abhay also revealed that the former CM was on parole last month for the wedding of his grandson Dushyant Chautala but chose to return to the jail so that he could write his papers on April 23. It is also being reported that Om Prakash Chautala now wants to pursue an under-graduate course.

Om Prakash Chautala’s elder son Ajay Chautala is also serving sentence at Tihar Jail for his role in the teachers’ recruitment scam.
