    Uttarakhand Municipal Corporation has an uphill task of cleaning the once-upon-a-time serene hill station Auli. The hill station turned into a dump yard after the Rs 200 crore weddings of South Africa-based controversial Gupta family’s sons in June.

    While one wedding celebration of Suryakant, son of Ajay Gupta, took place from June 18 to 20, wedding of Atul Gupta’s son Shashank took place from June 20 to 22. Few days ago, a PIL was filed that mentioned that the larger than life wedding celebrations damaged the environment.

    ANI tweeted, “Uttarakhand: Work underway by Municipal Corporation to clean up the garbage and waste left behind in Auli after the marriage of members of the Gupta family of South Africa, at the hill station held between 18 to 22 June.”

     

    Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, chief ministers, etc., also attended the wedding. Baba Ramdev even conducted a two-hour yoga session at the wedding. Multiple choppers were hired for guests to commute. It was said that all hotels and resorts of Auli were booked and flowers were flown in from Switzerland.
