Senior lawyer and Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that Pakistan government is a puppet in the hands of their country’s Army and intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Nikam made the statement after former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif in an interview confessed that Pakistani militants were responsible for the deadly ‘26/11 terror attacks’ on 26 November 2008 in Mumbai.

Nikam told ANI, “Former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif’s statement is very important for Indian govt. This proves that when Sharif was Pakistan PM, he was aware of the 26/11 attack, but still didn’t try to end its trial.”

He further added, “This also proves that the Pakistan government is a puppet in the hands of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Pakistan Army. That is why, when Sharif was Prime Minister of the country, he never admitted the attack because he was afraid of ISI and Pakistan Army”

Sharif, while speaking to Pakistan’s newspaper Dawn, had said, “Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me. Why can’t we complete the trial?”

Sharif’s confession assumes even more significant importance as Pakistan, all throughout, had been denying India’s allegation that 26/11 attacks were carried out by Pakistani militants.

On 26 November 2008, 10 heavily armed Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists entered Mumbai and carried out terror attacks, which lasted until November 29. The terror attacks claimed the lives of almost 150 innocent people.
