60 seconds story: Nagpur NGO Parindey Foundation celebrates Diwali with children from orphanages at ‘Navtej 2016’

Parindey Foundation organised a day-long cultural event 'Navtej 2016' to make Diwali special for children and youngsters from seven city orphanages.

→ Nagpur NGO Parindey Foundation recently organised a day-long cultural event ‘Navtej 2016’ at Agrasen Bhavan, Ravi Nagar, Nagpur to make Diwali special and memorable for around 350 children and youngsters from seven city orphanages.

→ Avi Agrawal, President, Parindey Foundation, said, “There are family reunions and celebrations at our homes during Diwali but these children from orphanages have no family to celebrate Diwali with. To make the festival of lights memorable and happy for them, we started organising Navtej annualy four years back.”

→ At Navtej 2016, children and youngsters were seen having a good time as they took part in Rangoli Competition, Drawing competition, Diya painting competition and gave amazing dance and singing performances.

→ One month before Navtej, volunteers of Parindey Foundation gather old papers from different homes and sell them to collect funds for the cultural event. Apart from this, it also ropes in people who are ready to help by providing with things they can.

→ Parindey foundation primarily  works for children from orphanages and from the poor sections from the society by giving them monetary support for their education and other needs.
