Addressing a rally at Karad, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray lashed out at NCP supremo Sharad Pawar for ‘serving’ Sonia Gandhi for 15 years despite being kicked out from Congress in 1999 by her. Thackeray also expressed his displeasure by saying that the former hasn’t seen a leader like Pawar.

“Pawar said that he hasn’t seen a coalition government such as ours (Sena-BJP) where we criticise the BJP but stay in power. He should realise that both the parties are separate since inception,” said Thakeray.

He further lashed out by saying that it was Pawar, who back-stabbed then Congress chief minister Vasantdada Patil to become chief minister of Maharashtra. “I haven’t seen a leader like you,” added Thackeray.

“The Shiv Sena criticises BJP if there’s a mistake. We both are capable of sorting it out. Pawar should not worry about it. Pawar did not leave the party. In fact, he was kicked out of the Congress by Sonia Gandhi. Still he served her for the next 15 years,” the Shiv Sena chief said, referring to NCP’s subsequent alliance with Congress.

Earlier, Pawar too had taken potshots by saying, “Shiv Sena is stuck to power as if by adhesive. I have not seen such coalition government where one party continues to criticise another.”
