HRD Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) organised a full day training workshop on ‘Personal Effectiveness for Supervisors’ that was conducted by Vinayak Gavankar, ISD Training Centre Nagpur at VIA in Nagpur.
Gavankar in the first session spoke on ‘Understanding self ‘ that covered – who we are, how our mind works, and how to develop a positive self-image and a right attitude. He also said that a strong positive self-image is essential for any desired success.
In the second session on ‘Gearing up for great success,’ he said how individuals achieve great success despite having several constraints. “To be a successful person, one has to set high goals, should have burning desire, belief, opinion and conviction,” he added.
In the next session, which was on ‘Becoming a valuable employee,’ he explained how to become a valuable asset for an organisation, how to improve performance at work place, how to sharpen knowledge and skills, to set high goals, be a learning machine, not saying no to any work, copying your boss’ good qualities and so on.
In the last session on ‘Improving interpersonal relationship,’ he cited examples for resolving conflicts between team members, understanding their psychology, relationship between boss and employee, and converting problems into various opportunities. The session was then followed by some questions and answers and feedback.
Earlier, Dr Suhas Buddhe, Secretary VIA, welcomed the guest speaker with flowers. Suresh Rathi, Vice President VIA, in his welcome address mentioned that training is essential part of any organisation and that no organisation can survive without the trained staff. Rathi further said, “Under HRD Forum, we had previously organised many programs on supervisors and got tremendous response from industries.”
Atul Pande, President VIA, was present during valedictory program and informed the participants about the importance of HR Practices, Training and Development in every organisation. He also said that it’s very important to update the current knowledge of employees in today’s competitive business environment. Neelam Bowade, Convener of HRD Forum, introduced the speaker and proposed a formal vote of thanks.
