Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil resigns as Maha Leader of Opposition days after son joins BJP

    Congress leader of Maharashtra and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil resigned from his post on Tuesday morning.

    Senior Congress leader of Maharashtra and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil resigned from his post on Tuesday morning. Patil’s move came few days after his son Sujay quite the Congress and joined the BJP on March 12. However, the party is yet to take a decision on the same. 

    As per reports, Sujay quit Congress and joined BJP after NCP decided to retain the Ahmednagar seat under the Congress-NCP alliance for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections from where Sujay was keen on contesting the elections.
