Former President of Congress and former MP from Amethi constituency Rahul Gandhi accused current MP from Amethi Smriti Irani of ‘playing antakshari’ amid COVID-19 lockdown. Gandhi, who’s the current MP from Wayanad supplied 12,000 sanitisers, 20,000 face masks and 10,000 soaps to the people of his former constituency.

Gandhi earlier too had sent truckloads full of wheat and rice for the local residents of Amethi. Gandhi on his official Twitter handle said he was fulfilling his responsibility towards Amethi people while Irani was playing antakshari.

However, Irani lambasted Gandhi for his comments and took to Twitter by saying why would he want lives to be saved. She said, “How would Rahul Gandhi do his politics if the people survived?’

Rahul was the MP from Amethi for three consecutive elections before losing it to Irani in 2019.
