Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, while addressing a rally on Sunday on the occasion of Gudi Padwa at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, called out all political parties to unite for a Modi-Mukt Bharat. Thackeray called for a ‘third independence of India;’ the first being in 1947, the second in 1977 post the emergency and third which will come after Bharatiya Janata Party loses elections in 2019.

Thackeray took digs at PM Narendra Modi’s foreign tours and even compared him with the late German dictator Adolf Hitler saying that if one studies the techniques used by the government, one will realize that these techniques are straight out of Hitler’s books.

Thackeray lashed out at BJP and PM Modi stating that if an investigation was made into demonetization, it may turn out to be the biggest scam of India since 1947. Along with PM Modi, Thackeray also lashed out at Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.

Taking potshots at Fadnavis, Thackeray said that the Maharashtra CM was busy ‘singing songs’ while the state is going through several problems. Thackeray was referring to a recent music video wherein Fadnavis was seen singing with his wife Amruta Fadnavis to create awareness about conservation of rivers. Thackeray talking about Akshay Kumar said that his films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman were nothing but a part of a ‘covert propaganda’ to promote the government schemes.

Thackeray also took up the issue of Ram Mandir Temple in Ayodhya claiming that in the coming months, communal riots will take place in the country because of the issue. He said that some people are hatching a conspiracy to stir communal riots in India to win the next elections.
