The Maharashtra cabinet on Tuesday approved the setting up of the same university as a private one. While the government claimed that the university would start courses from this year, people within the university said the university would be fully operational from the academic year of 2020.

Apart from ongoing courses of engineering and MBA at Ramdeobaba College, it would offer courses in geo-tech engineering, heat power engineering and energy engineering programmes.

It has been said that in future, the expansion of the university area might happen on 100 acres of land near Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) at Katol road.
