RBI employee ends life in Nagpur, fiancée booked for abetting his suicide

    A 26-year-old RBI employee, on Wednesday, ended his life at his residence in Nagpur by hanging himself from the ceiling fan with a help of a nylon rope. Bajaj Nagar Police has booked the man’s fiancée and her friend for abetting his suicide.

    As per the police report, the deceased – Chetan Sanjayrao Potdukhe – was engaged to Payal Jeevanrao Aakre (26), a resident of Wardha. The couple was going to get married on July 2, 2018 and so Payal would visit Nagpur often to meet Chetan. Supecting Payal of having an affair with another man, when Chetan, one day, checked her phone, he found indecent pictures of Payal with another man. Chetan ended the relationship with Payal and also cancelled the marriage.

    The decision of cancelling the marriage angered Payal so much that she along with her Pune-based friend Rutuja started threatening Chetan. The women allegedly told Chetan that they would file a police complaint to defame him. Fed up with the threats, Chetan committed suicide. Bajaj Nagar Police, on a complaint by Chetan’s father, has registered a case and booked the women under section 306 and 34 of the IPC.
