Blackheads are one of the most irritating and dirty looking bumps, which take away the charm from our face. Blackheads occur when pollutants, grime, dead skin cells, sebum and certain germs accumulate in the open pores and form a plug. These are initially brown coloured dots on the skin, but as they accumulate inside the pores, the excess oil gets stuck and gets oxidised. This oxidation process turns these dots into black, leaving the skin rough and bumpy. Most common places where blackheads appear are nose, cheeks and chin.
