Reports claim Dawood Ibrahim suffering from COVID-19; brother Anees Ibrahim says ‘bhai’s fine’

On June 5, several media outlets reported that underworld don and fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus in Pakistan. As per the reports, Dawood and his wife Mehazabeen are undergoing treatment in Karachi’s military hospital as per intelligence agencies. The reports also stated that Dawood’s personal staff and guards have been quarantined.

However, Dawood’s brother Anees Ibrahim spoke from an undisclosed location to IANS and has clarified that his brother and his family has not contracted the virus and are doing absolutely fine. “Bhai (Dawood) is fine and Shakeel is also fine. No one has tested positive for coronavirus. No one from our family is admitted in hospital,” said Anees, who chose to be silent when asked about his current location.

Anees also admitted that Dawood is running his business in the UAE and Pakistan.
