Four men with previous criminal records were arrested by Sadar Police on Sunday for murdering Nagpur businessman Rishi Khosla on August 21 near Gondwana Square. The men were hired by a goon named Girish Dasarwar on behalf of Micky alias Rupindeer Balveersingh Bakshi (54) to murder Khosla for a token amount of Rs 7,000. Bakshi, who had promised more money after the murder, was taken in custody by Sadar Police along with Dasarwar on August 22.

The reason behind Khosla’s murder is said to be his close relationship with Bakshi’s estranged wife Madhu Bakshi. It is being speculated by the cops that the assailants were instructed to eliminate Madhu as well along with Khosla. Luckily, Madhu was not with Khosla at the time of the attack. The police have now provided security to Madhu.

As per the police, the men – Rahul alias Baban Kalamkar (32), Kunal alias China Hemne (21), Arif Inayat Khan (21) and Aziz Ahmed alias Pangya Anis Ahmed (19) – intercepted Khosla’s car around midnight on August 21 when he was returning after seeing off Madhu at her residence near Kadbi Square.

While Aril and Rahul were in an auto rickshaw, Kunal and Aziz were on a bike. As the goons took out weapons to stop Khosla, passersby stopped to see the drama because of which the goons did not attack Khosla. Later, as Khosla stopped his car near Gondwana Square and tried to run towards his house in Byramji Town, he was stopped by the goons and hacked to death.

As per the police, Bakshi had met Dasarwar when he was sent to jail in 2012 in the murder case of NCP leader Ganesh Mate. Dasarwar was in jail at that time for killing a pool parlour owner. Bakshi and Dasarwar had hatched the plan to eliminate Khosla and Madhu a few months back.
