As Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is busy defending himself on corruption charges leveled against him by former minister Kapil Mishra, Robert Vadra compares Kejriwal’s situation with that of his.

Kejriwal in the past had accusing Vadra of dubious land deals and corruption. Vadra, who’s the son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, through his facebook post, said, “From inception in 2010, the people who threw baseless, false accusations at me are now having to face a similar plight. That too from an insider who claims to have substantial proof.”

“Well, I’ve borne so many false accusations from various politicians, mostly to gain publicity for themselves or divert the public mind from important national issues that I’d like to see how this one plays out. Had been on the receiving end, of a political and media campaign to malign me,” Vadra further added.

However Vadra, a businessman by profession, wished Kejriwal to come out clean for the people of Delhi who trusted him. “I sincerely wish Mr. Kejriwal all the best. I hope he comes out clean for the sake of the people who believed in him. Also for the respect of his immediately family, especially the children, for whom such trials by media, of those they love and look up to are painful and sad,” Vadra said.

Kejriwal, in 2012, had accused Vadra of being involved in a huge land scam. He had said that Vadra had purchased property worth crores of rupees on unsecured loans provided by realty firm DLF. Kejriwal even said that the property worth Rs 300 crores was given at throwaway prices.

Kejriwal had alleged that property worth Rs 300 crores was given at throwaway prices to Vadra by DLF.
