RPF seizes Rs 67.5 lakh from GT Express passenger at Nagpur Railway Station

    The Special Crime Detention Team of RPF (Railway Protection Force), on Saturday afternoon, seized Rs 67.5 lakh from a passenger on board GT Express at Nagpur Railway Station.

    At around 1:10 pm on Saturday, during regular patrolling, RPF personnel including Usha Tigga, Vikas Sharma and Jasveer Singh came across a suspicious man carrying a bag and sitting on seat no. 46 of GT Express (12616) stationed at platform no. 2 of the railway station. When the personnel questioned the man, he said that he was going to Chennai and that the bag has Indian currency in it. The man was instantly taken in custody and taken to PSI Rajesh Autkar.

    The man was then identified as Ramchandra Mishra (48), a resident of Naik Galli (near Itwari Post Office) in Nagpur. Two bags carrying Rs 67.5 lakh (Rs 2000 notes amounting to Rs 30 lakh and Rs 500 notes amounting to Rs 37.5 lakh) were confiscated. The cash has been sent to the Income Tax Department for further investigation. The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, CR RPF, Jyoti Kumar Satija.
