In another blow to South Africa Cricket Team, which has already lost their first two matches in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019, fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury. 35-year-old Steyn was battling to be fit in time for SA’s crucial match against India in Southampton on Wednesday (June 5).

A statement issued by the ICC (International Cricket Council) said, “Bowler Steyn has suffered a second shoulder injury, which has not responded to treatment and has ruled him out of bowling for the foreseeable future.”

With Steyn ruled out of the prestigious tournament, South Africa has called up left-arm fast bowler Beuran Hendricks as his replacement. While SA fast bowler Anrich Nortje was ruled out before the tournament due to a thumb injury, bowler Lungi Ngidi is also nursing a hamstring problem.
