79-year-old man assaulted over petty parking issue in Dhantoli

    79-year-old Ghanshyam Khandelwal after he was assaulted over a petty parking issue in Dhantoli, Nagpur

    A 79-year-old man, along with his family members, on Wednesday morning, was assaulted by his neighbor and the neighbour’s relatives and friends over a petty parking issue in Dhantoli, Nagpur. While the senior citizen, Ghanshyam Khandelwal, a resident of Tranquil Apartments in Dhantoli, suffered an injury on his head during the assault, three of his family members were also injured.

    Businessman Nakul Prakash Khandelwal, the grandson of Ghanshyam Khandelwal, narrated the entire ordeal while speaking to Nation Next. Nakul said, “On Wednesday morning, at around 9.30 am, I came back to our residence in Dhantoli after picking up my grandfather from Ajni Railway Station. As I parked the car, Manish Shukla, whose house and our apartment share a compound wall, came on the spot and started fighting over the parking space. Before we could even talk with him, he pushed my grandfather, after which he fell on the ground and suffered a head injury. As I started screaming for help, my family members, hearing my voice, came out of the house. Shukla, two of his relatives and his friends started thrashing us. I was hurt in the attack, my brother in-law Shubham Agrawal (27) suffered a head injury as one of Shukla’s friends hurled a stone at him and my aunt Renu Kanugo (57) suffered an injury on the leg.”

    Nakul, after the incident, filed a complaint at Dhantoli Police Station, which is investigating the case further.
