Shalmali Kholgade, one of the finest female singers of India, has won our hearts time and again with her powerful and beguiling voice. Shalmali recently recorded a Marathi song Kinaare kadhitari sod tu, which has been composed by Sahil Kulkarni and written by Shivleela Dange. The song focuses on women empowerment and highlights on how the women in rural regions are still fighting for their basic rights and how they don’t even realise their value and strengths. Shalmali, who has predominantly sung popular Hindi songs in movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,  Ishaqzaade, Race 2, Cocktail, etc, feels proud to have lent her beautiful voice for a cause and is extremely excited for her latest song. Not only because of its composition, but also because it reflects her own beliefs. This song is quite powerful in nature and can be termed as a movement. Shalmali, whose voice strongly mirrors her views, said, “Shivleela’s belief and commitment to the cause was a huge force in recording a powerful and moving composition. Hats off to Sahil and the entire team for the love they poured into the song.”
