Shiv Sena’s only Muslim legislator Abdul Sattar resigns as Maharashtra minister

Ahead of portfolio allocation, Shiv Sena minister Abdul Sattar, who recently took oath as Minister of State in the Maha Vikas Aghadi tendered his resignation as minster on Saturday morning. Sattar, who earlier in Congress, was the only Muslim legislator in the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. Sattar was said to be upset over not getting cabinet berth in Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government so he stepped down as the minister. It was also said that he was upset over scuffle between Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi and the Shiv Sena over portfolio allocation.
