The nationwide lockdown has certainly improved the national capital’s air quality. Known to have worst Air Quality Index (AQI) due to excessive pollution, Delhi is now breathing easy with an AQI of 58 that is considered to fall under ‘moderate’ category.

As per a report in NDTV, “According to the data collected by the US Embassy in New Delhi, even though the air quality index (AQI) was in ‘unhealthy’ category from 7 am to 9 am, it became moderate as the day proceeded.” However, as per System of Air Quality and Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Delhi’s AQI stood at 47, which is considered to fall under ‘good’ category.
