Sitabuldi Police, on Friday, busted a sex racket being run at Ajay Spa and Salon at Loharkar’s Hotel situated in Ramdaspeth, Nagpur. During the raid led by Zone II DCP Chinmay Pandit, the police rescued five women and arrested five men.

DCP Pandit, while speaking to Nation Next, said that the raid was carried out on a basis of a tip-off received by the police. As per our information, a sex racket was being run at the spa basically meant for body massages. Acting on the tip-off, we sent some dummy customers, who gave us the confirmation that sexual pleasure services were indeed being offered at the spa. We raided the place afterwards.”

The police after the raid rescued five women and arrested five men including a manager, a barber, a security guard and a customer, who was found in an onjectionable position in the spa. An offence has been registered against thw owners of the hotel – Ajay Loharkar and Abhay Loharkar – at Sitabuldi Police Station. Both the brothers have been booked under section 370 of the IPC and section 3, 4 and 5 of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. While Ajay has been taken into custody, the police is searching for Abhay.

DCP Pandit also informed that one of the rescued girls told the police that there’s another spa at Loharkar’s Family hotel in Sitabuldi, under the Dhantoli Police jurisdiction, where similar activities take place. DCP Pandit along with colleagues went to the hotel and found two girls at the terrace of the hotel. Since the police did not find any substantial evidence, the statements of the two girls were taken and thereafter the police left the hotel.
