Spiritual leader Bhaiyyuji Maharaj (Dr Uday Singh Deshmukh) at the age of 50, allegedly shot himself dead on his forehead today afternoon (June 12) at his residence at Indore. The spiritual leader, who suffered major head injuries, was brought dead at the Bombay Hospital in Indore.

The Indore-based self-proclaimed spiritual guru was a former model who was accorded the status of Minister of State (MoS) by Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in April 2018 but Maharaj declined the same. Maharaj, as per news agency IANS, had said, “A post holds no importance for a saint. All he has ought to think of is service to the people. When a post or status does not touch your mind, intellect or conscience, why think about it.”

However, the reason for his suicide and the number of bullets fired remain unknown. It is being said that the spiritual leader was suffering from depression. A large number of his followers have gathered at the hospital where Bhaiyyuji was admitted.

Bhaiyyuji, minutes before his death today afternoon, had tweeted about Mahashivratri. Check his tweets here:
