According to reports, Bollywood actress Sridevi was the first choice to play the role of Queen Sivagami in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. Sridevi reportedly demanded Rs 6 crore from the makers of the film to play the role. The role then went to actress Ramya Krishna who was paid Rs 2.5 crore for playing the role of Queen Sivagami. While Baahubali 2 has become the highest grossing Indian movie ever by collecting Rs 1000 crore worldwide, Ramya has been widely appreciated by the audience and critics for her role. Interestingly, after she denied to play the role in Baahubali, Sridevi appeared in the Tamil film Puli which was released alongside Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. The film, which starred actor Vijay tanked at the BO.

While Sridevi may not have played the role, director Ram Gopal Varma is of the opinion that if she would have played the role of Queen Sivagami, Sridevi would have overshadowed Prabhas’ performance in the film. Ramu expressed his opinions in a series of tweets.
