Battling depression, medical student commits suicide in GMCH campus

A student of GMCH (Government Medical College and Hospital), Nagpur, who was said to be battling depression, committed suicide on Saturday by consuming poison. The body of the student, identified as Ashwant Khobragade, was found near the shrubs in the college campus. Ashwant, who was in his final year, basically hailed from Bhandara.

Ashwant’s dead body was first spotted by another medical student, who contacted the police later. Ajni Police rushed to spot as soon as it got information about the dead body. During their preliminary investigation, the police found a mug, in which Ashwant poured the poison and drank it. As per a report in a leading daily, while the police did not find any suicide note, after talking to a few students, it got to know that Ashwant was going through acute depression. Ajni Police has registered a case of accidental death.
