The season’s all time favourite contestant from Punjab Sunny Hindustani emerged as the winner of Indian Idol 11 on Sunday evening.

The season’s all time favourite contestant Sunny Hindustani emerged as the winner of Indian Idol 11 on Sunday evening. Sunny, who hails from Punjab’s Bhatinda, before trying his luck at the singing reality show, was a boot polisher. Known for the similarity of his voice with that of legendary singer late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Sunny was praised for his consistently excellent performances in the show.

Apart from the coveted trophy, Sunny also won a cash prize of Rs 25 lakhs, Maruti Altruis car and an opportunity of singing in the next project of T-series.

While Rohit Raut clinched the first runner up title, earning a cheque of Rs 5 lakh from Sony TV, Ankona Mukherjee emerged as the second runner up who received a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. Ridham and Adriz bagged the fourth and fifth respectively and got Rs 3 lakhs each.

The show was judged by Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya.
