Few days after the tragic news of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed a case against eight prominent Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ekta Kapoor.

Speaking to ANI, Ojha said, “I have filed a case against 8 people including Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan and Ekta Kapoor under Sections 306, 109, 504 and 606 of IPC in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case in a court in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.”

He alleged that Sushant was removed from seven films after his successful Chhichhore (2019). “In the complaint, I have alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput was removed from around seven films and some of his films were not released. Such a situation was created which forced him to take the extreme step,” said Ojha.

After the demise of the talented actor, Sanjay Nirupam, ex-MP of Indian National Congress (INC) had tweeted, “After the success of Chhichhore, Sushant Singh Rajput had signed for seven films. However, in a span of six months, he lost all them all. Why? The ruthlessness of film industry works on a different level. The same cruelty led to the death of a talented artist. My humble tribute to Sushant! #RIPSushant.”

The relevant sections include: 306 (abetment to suicide), 109 (Punishment of abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC.
