Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya asked the Centre to take his money ‘unconditionally’ and drop all charges against him. Liquor baron and promoter of the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines Mallya on Thursday asked Centre to accept his offer of repaying 100% of his outstanding loan and close the case against him.

Mallya on his Twitter account posted, “Congratulations to the Government for a Covid 19 relief package. They can print as much currency as they want BUT should a small contributor like me who offers 100% payback of State owned Bank loans be constantly ignored? Please take my money unconditionally and close.”

Accused in money laundering charges amounting to an estimated Rs 9,000 crore, Mallya had filed an appeal in the UK Supreme Court a week ago after losing an appeal in the London High Court against an extradition order to India. Mallya had earlier offered to pay 100% amount that Kingfisher Airlines had borrowed from banks.
