With things getting murkier by the day, Tanushree Dutta, who triggered #MeToo movement in India, slapped a defamation case of Rs 10 crores against Rakhi Sawant on Monday.

Tanushree last month had accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss (2008). She’d also said that Nana had forcefully included intimate steps in a song (that starred Tanushree and Nana), which was being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya. She even added that after backing out of the song, Nana had called goons to vandalise her car.

Soon, Rakhi replaced Tanushree, after the latter quit the film. Rakhi, refuting Tanushree’s claims, while addressing a press conference, had said, “These are fake allegations against Nana Patekarji and Ganesh Acharya. Tanushree Dutta has gone mad. Was she in a coma for 10 years? I don’t like saying such things about a woman as I respect women. But this Tanushree Dutta who has returned from America after 10 years is speaking such things, because she has exhausted all the money from her bank account and has no work. That’s why she’s blaming Nana Patekarji.”

“If something like this really happened on the sets, you should see my song with Nana Patekarji. He did not even touch me a bit. In fact, I was making him feel comfortable. I told him that its ok, you could touch me,” said Rakhi. She added, “Tanushree was under the influence of drugs; she was in an unconscious state. Will media support that mental girl (Tanushree)?”

Advocate Nitin Satpute told India Today, “We have filed a criminal and civil defamation case against Rakhi Sawant for maligning my client’s character and image.”

He also said that if Rakhi failed to reply, she would be punished for two years. When Nation Next tried to contact Rakhi, she wasn’t available.
