Tanushree Dutta will be filing a protest petition against the clean chit given to actor Nana Patekar by Mumbai Police in the sexual harassment case lodged by Tanushree against Patekar. This comes a month after Mumbai Police filed a closure report in the case.
Tanushree’s lawyer Nitin Satpute informed that Tanushree has opposed the B-Summary report filed by Oshiwara Police Station. Satpute told IANS: “The court has granted her time to file a protest petition against the B-Summary report. Tanushree’s legal team was present, but not a single officer from the Oshiwara police station was in the court room at the time of hearing. The case has been adjourned to September 7.”
In October 2018, Tanushree filed an FIR against Patekar for allegedly behaving inappropriately with her on the sets of 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss. Along with Patekar Director Rakesh Sarang, Producer Sami Siddiqui and Choreographer Ganesh Acharya were also named in the case. Oshiwara Police later interrogated the witnesses, who were present on the sets of the film.
Last month, Oshiwara Police gave Patekar a clean chit as they could not find any proof against him to file a chargesheet and seek trial. The police mentioned that the complaint could have been filed to seek revenge and seemed ‘malicious and fake.’ The conclusion and findings of the report stated that after much investigation, there was no solid piece of evidence against Patekar, Sarang, Acharya and Siddiqui.
