Nagpur airport management company GMR may be sacked soon: Nitin Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari said that there could be a possibility of re-tendering for Nagpur airport because of a delay in the work due to certain technical issues.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that there could be a possibility of issuing a re-tender for Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur because of a delay in the work due to certain technical issues. Earlier, GMR Airports Limited had bagged a contract in March 2019 from the concessioning authority MIHAN India Limited to develop, operate and manage Nagpur airport.

Addressing media in Nagpur, Gadkari said the previous Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra had approved the airport at Nagpur but work got delayed due to technical reasons and now there is possibility of re-tendering of the project.
