To ensure safety of passengers traveling in trains and for the ones waiting on platforms at Nagpur’s railway stations – main station (Nagpur Railway Station) and Ajni, Central Railways has designed an Artificial Intelligence Thermal Scanning Camera for checking temperatures of passengers amid COVID-19 lockdown. Also, within one month, drones would be deployed at both the stations to prevent criminal activities.

Ashutosh Pandey, Divisional Security Commissioner for Nagpur, told Nation Next, “There are two major activities undertaken by Central Railways for Nagpur, one of which is the Artificial Intelligence Thermal Scanning Camera and second, the deployment of drones. The scanning camera has already been installed at the main station for screening the temperatures of passengers. A tablet has also been provided, through which passengers can get the status of their tickets and also come to know which particular platform, their respective trains would be arriving on.”

While the thermal screening camera has already been set up at city’s main station, drones would soon be deployed at main station and Ajni station.
