Unable to drink alcohol since lockdown, Nagpur man hangs himself

Nagpur: A 48-year-old man Sanjay Mahurle, on Tuesday night, hanged himself on a ceiling fan at his house after craving for alcohol since lockdown due to Coronavirus.

As per the city police, Mahurle was a vegetable retailer and was severely addicted to alcohol. He took the drastic step when he couldn’t get it due to the lockdown. Mahurle, who was the resident of Bhamti in Pratapnagar, was married and had two children but due to his addiction, his wife and kids got separated from him few years back.

At 4 am, Mahurle’s neighbours noticed him hanging and alerted cops. Pratap Nagar Police after receiving the complaint reached the spot and filed a case of accidental death and are investigating the matter further.
