The US Consulate General, Mumbai in association with EducationUSA at United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) recently held a university fair. Indian alumni of US universities, EducationUSA advisers from USIEF and US Consulate General consular officials provided guidance on university selection process, admission-related exams, visa procedures, etc to students in Nagpur.
The fair, which was held at Hotel Tuli Imperial, on September 29, 2018, was carried out in three sessions. Numerous students from the city attended the fair to enquire about the procedure of enrolling for various American universities.
The first session comprised short listing of universities. The second session included writing an application and a statement of purpose for getting selected in the universities. Third session was all about requirements pertaining to finances for various courses.
When Nation Next spoke to Jonathan Hwang, Assistant Cultural Affair Officer US Consulate General, Mumbai, he said, “Various alumni from USA came here to share their experience and discuss the programs that they had in their universities. I love these discussions as these alumni give a testimonial of their experiences.”
Nitin Ronghe, alumnus of Ohio Univeristy, and Convener at Maha Vidarbha Janjagaran, from Nagpur, told Nation Next, “Being an alumnus myself, I welcome such education fairs. It is a great initiative to connect directly with students who aspire to pursue their further education in USA. As I had done my internship from Ohio, I was more interested in meeting representatives from Ohio.
