VIA felicitates ‘Superwomen’ of Nagpur on International Women’s Day

The Entrepreneur forum of VIA (Vidarbha Industries Association) on the occasion of International Women’s Day yesterday organised a do at VIA auditorium to acknowledge the contribution by some Nagpur women entrepreneurs towards the country’s economy. At the do, ten ‘Superwomen’ of Nagpur were felicitated by Anita Rao, Convener – VIA Entrepreneur Forum, Atul Pande, President – VIA, Akash Agrawal, Chairman – VIA Entrepreneur Forum and Shilpa Agrawal, Chairperson – VIA Marketing Forum.

The lady entrepreneurs who were felicitated included Shruti Sancheti (Pinnacle), Shyamala Sanyal (Bharat Barood Udyog), Abha Chaudhary (Abha Chaudhary brand), Reema Sial (Celebrations Events), Nikita Mhaisalkar (Nikita Mhaisalkar brand), Rina Sinha (NIIT), Sharmila Vali (RevAyur Beauty Care Ltd), Satnam Toor (Kutz Salon), Vidhi Wadhwani (Vidhi Wadhwani brand) and Rakhi Bhutani (Aura).

When all these ladies came on the dais, they spoke about their entrepreneurial journey and the opportunities they got in Nagpur for their respective businesses. Interestingly, most of them admitted that it was after marriage and with extreme support from their family, that they were able to achieve success and make a name for themselves. While Nikita Mhaisalkar acknowledged the support of her mother-in-law and her team which helped her to supply to 25 stores across the nation, Vidhi Wadhwani spoke about how tough it is to balance work and personal life together. Shyamla Sanyal and Sharmila Vali acknowledged the role of their employees in their success and growth.

Some of these women also spoke about technology being a big help in spreading their business. While Abha Chowdhary, Rakhi Bhutani and Reema Sial attributed their success to e -commerce which helped them to explore new markets, Rina Sinha said that her success was in building dreams for the young generation through information technology.

All the awardees unanimously agreed that their mantra to success was hard work, dedication, passion and the will to succeed. They also advised the young generation to follow their dreams.
