VIA organises awareness seminar on new government policy for women entrepreneurs

Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) recently organised an awareness seminar for women entrepreneurs at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Auditorium, Deeksha Bhoomi, Nagpur. The seminar was organised to inform women about the new policy laid down by the government to encourage entrepreneurship among women. Present during the seminar were Subhash Desai (Maharashtra Industries Minister), Pravin Pote-Patil (Minister of State for Industries and Mining), Dr Harshadeep Kamble (Development Commissioner, Industries), Atul Pande (President, VIA), Dr Suhas Buddhe (Secretary, VIA), Akash Agrawal (Chairman, VIA Entrepreneurship Forum), Hemant Waghmare (District Project Officer, MCED), Sachi Mallick (Chairperson, VIA, Lady Entrepreneurship Wing), Shilpa Agrawal and Nisha Sonare.

Addressing the gathering, Desai informed that Maharashtra is the first state in the country to introduce special policy for women. He said, “We firmly believe that women are good managers, possess extraordinary skills of multitasking and have the potential to run enterprises successfully and efficiently. He also urged women to be ‘job givers’ and not ‘job seekers.’ Dr Kamble futher informed that the new laid down policy consists of schemes for women from all strata of society.
