Ahmedabad is set to welcome US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump on February 24th for the inauguration of the world’s largest cricket stadium Motera Stadium in the largest city of Gujarat. Once a home turf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ahmedabad is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring Trump’s three-hour-visit remains flawless.

Civic bodies – Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Ahmedabad Urban Development (AUDA) – have been engrossed in revamping and beautifying roads. The civic bodies have also decided to beautify the stretch from Chimmanbhai Patel Bridge to Zundal Circle and up to Motera Stadium.

Out of the 20 crore, the civic bodies would spend around six crore rupees for the routes around airport, stadium as well as Sabarmati Ashram, where Trump would pay a visit. Around 12,000 policemen have been deployed for the VVIP’s visit.

Moreover, a 400-metre wall is being built along the required route so that the slum surrounding it would be concealed to block the view.
