Woman travels from Nagpur’s Satranjipura to Wardha, booked by police

A woman and her family, who travelled from Nagpur’s Satranjipura area to Wardha on Friday, have been booked by the police for violating lockdown rules. For the uninitiated, Satranjipura in Nagpur has been declared as a hotspot for COVID-19 cases with around 60 cases reported from the area.

As per a report in TOI, the woman and her family travelled to Wardha in an ambulance, which had earlier taken a patient to Nagpur. On the way back to Wardha, driver allowed the woman to meet her relatives in Mahadeopura in the city.

When the authorities came to know about the woman and her family entering the district, they were approached. While the woman was sent to Civil Hospital, the family members were sent to a quarantine centre. As per the report in TOI, the woman is reluctant to share her details and travel history but her family members have confirmed that she’s from Satranjipura.

The woman, her family members and the driver of the ambulance have been booked under relevant sections of IPC and Epidemic Diseases Act.
